agri.capital is Europe’s largest biogas company and a leader in renewable energy generation.
Founded in 2004, agri.capital develops, owns and operates biogas to power and biomethane to pipeline operations in Germany and the EU. The company transforms various energy crops, animal waste, and food waste into a methane-rich biogas which is either burned to create electricity or cleaned to biomethane and fed into the natural gas network. The fermentation residue is used as a high-quality fertilizer, returning nutrients to the soil.
At present, the company operates biogas plants in 48 locations throughout Germany and one site in Austria. Its current electricity generation capacity is approximately 36 MW, with a further 6 MW under construction. In addition to heat and electricity generation, agri.capital operates three plants for feeding biomethane (bio natural gas) into the natural gas network. The capacity of these plants adds up to 7 MW.
agri.capital intends to continue growing in this sector and will be scaling up its investment in biomethane projects in the future.
